Part 2a: Interview Mistakes: Poor Preparation

Jobs : Successful Job Search Interview Process

We recommended in an earlier how to that you prepare thoroughly - think of the questions that you are likely to be asked and jot down possible avenues to go down in your answer.

We recommend you read through your CV or EAF so you know what they may ask you from those.

Also of course read up on the company and that sector in general.

If you have done all of these, whilst being conscious of getting across the image of yourself that you want to project, then you will have no problems.

Conversely, if you have done little preparation, then this will show up quite quickly, especially if the interview starts to ask more probing questions and more in depth questions, as is quite likely.

Although these questions can be scary even with preparation, you should actually view them in a positive light and welcome them - they give you an opportunity to show how thorough you are and how committed you are - and they may also show up candidates who have not prepared as well as you have.
