As a man it is quite easy - ensure that your shorts have a pocket in which to place the ball during the course of a rally. However for women it is not too easy - if wearing a tennis skirt, most won't have a pocket for a ball. However, clips to hold a ball are now more common and available in the mainstream, so by all means buy one of these - either online or from a dedicated tennis shop. The ball simply clips into the holder, making it easy to store a ball if needed for a second serve.
