How can i get a watermark out from an antique fabric chair after I tried to get a chocolate mark out with soap and water?

Question asked by: knowitall

Removing watermarks? Ah yes, this can be a tricky and often delicate operation to perform!

The key is to make sure you don't make things worse when trying to remove the mark from the wood, which sadly often happens in this instance.

You can try getting a soft cloth and buffing very gently the affected area, to see if this removes the watermark. This works best when it has just happened and is preventative. If there is damage already done, try using a furniture polish on the affected area that is oil based (this is the key).
