A common pair of pliers has a place for cutting wires, bolts, or nails. Why is it so important that this cutter be located very near the plier's pivot?

This is so that you can be very accurate with your cut - the closer to the pivot the easier it is to judge and the more control of the movement you have, important for this sort of thing where accuracy is key.

A pair of pliers has the cutting place, for wire, nails etc, very close to the pivot for a simple reason:that is the position where the user can exercise maximum power on the material being cut.Does that make sense?
