How do you write procidures of mineral identification?
Question asked by: 10brewster

It depends on the mineral - there are all sorts of tests ranging from the simple to the complex.
In general chemical analysis will be done to see what it reacts with, how hard and soft it is, to try and identify what it is. Ultimately it could be looked at with really powerful microscopes to work out the actual atomic structure of the mineral.
