Sources of history

can you tell me the relationship between primary and secondary sources of history

Primary sources are first hand accounts.

For instance if you saw the coronation of queen elizabeth I and can talk about what you saw, what happened and so on then that is a primary source.

However if instead it was something that you read about in the newspaper and then based on that you wrote a book about it or told someone else, well then that would be a secondary source.
