What does mean, mode and median mean?
Question asked by: cati25

These are the three most common type of averages. Let's illustrate what this means:
2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 4
The mode is the one that occurs the most often, so here it is 3.
The mean is the 'standard average', eg what most people mean by the word average, ie add up and divide by the total: 2 + 23 + 4 / 6 = 29/6
Median is the one in the middle of the sequence in order, which is 3.
