What happens if a Black Hole sucks in a planet, and what are Black Holes?
Question asked by: knowitall
If a black hole were to suck in a planet, then the fate would be the same for the planet as any other matter sucked in - it would be destroyed in the process by the immense gravitation and pressure.
A black hole is thought to be formed from an extremely dense gravitational collapse when a particularly massive star dies. Quoting from a science site: "A black hole forms when the amount of matter in the core of a star undergoing a supernova is great enough to cause a runaway gravitational collapse"
