The highest mountain in the world is called Mount Everest.
That's why it is so famous and presented such a challenge, due to the harsh conditions and the fact that the air is thinner and it is much harder to breathe due to less.
There are other high mountain ranges and some beneath the ocean too, but this is the highest mountain on land that is known.
