What is the surface of the moon like?
Question asked by: knowitall

The surface of the moon is not made of cheese contrary to the thoughts of some people.
In fact, the surface on both sides of the moon is very different the side we cannot see being quite different indeed.
The Moon surface is hard rock. Although there are so-called seas these are thought to be crater impacts rather than actual seas that have lost their water.
When it was active geologically there was volcanic activity and some of the surface shows us this fact.
