Yes women do prefer groomed and well clean men to a bit of rough, as you put it.
In the old days that may not have been so much the truth but it is definitely the case now that someone who is well groomed and takes care of themself, smells nice etc is much more likely to have success with the ladies than, as it were, someone who is hairy, smelly and not groomed!
