one less than half a number is twelve.what is the number?
Question asked by: jbwalton32

Well, if one less than half is twelve, then half is thirteen.

This is because 12 + 1 = 13

Therefore half the number is 13 so the whole number is 26

this is because 26 = 13 x 2

and that's the answer, really easy actually!

Express in algebra to help with this sort of question.
