How can I stop hair gel causing flakes in my hair?

Asked on: 26 Aug 2009

To some extent this depends on the type that you use. If you have a waxy type hair cream then this seems quite likely to turn into flaky bits.

Clear gels do not tend to turn to flakes in the same way, according to my male friends anyway, so maybe go with one of those.

Perhaps the amount that you use has a bearing on what happens too, but make sure that you wash your hair frequently and in which case it won't be too much of an issue either way.
