Is a plastic or metal sink better?

A metal sink and a plastic sink are of course quite different beasts.
Assuming that the metal one is a plated one and therefore doesn't actually rust or anything then this could be the better bet as many who have a plastic sink find that it is very hard to clean and gets dirty quite easily, therefore for maintenance reasons the metal one might be the best bet!
