Super glue perpituity

I have repaired a hole in Plastic underground sprinkling hose. Must the area be protected from direct contact with the earth around the hose?

It depends on the type of glue. If it is water soluble or if water will weaken the type of chemical bonds that work in the glue then it should be protected from getting wet, if water does not affect the strength of the glue and its bonds then it is less important.
