Is the answer you are after countries?
Normally within a country you have similar characteristics - e.g. there are laws and customs so people tend to behave in the same way to each other.
I guess that is what you are after, unless you are talking about something like geographical features and not history?
If this isn't what you are after provide more information and I'll see if I can come up with something else!
