What do I have to do to become a Games Console Game Designer/Maker?

Interesting question.
To be a games designer then you need to first have a track record of a passion and creativity for games.
Many will have done art or graphics design as a university degree.
Then try and get jobs at software houses and suss out the right connections and people to talk to to get into this competitive area.
If you can't get in, go to standard design and creative work and see and wait if crossovers and opportunities come along. Be patient and eventually it'll happen for you!
