What do people look for at interview?
Question asked by: knowitall

At interview it is a mistake to think that people are looking for the perfect candidate. The perfect candidate never exists for a job - at least not at the money they are offering for that job anyway!
Rather they are looking for someone with the necessary skills, a quick learner, and someone who is positive and seems to have the right attitude to fit with that career.
The person therefore is as important as the experience that they come with.
Hence always present yourself in a positive and professional and friendly manner.
Try to give focussed and relevant answers and speak a little slower than in normal conversation. Don't be afraid to take your time in giving your answers.
