What was the 49th state added to the United States
Question asked by: dannyboy
Interestingly the answer is that this was Alaska.
Alaska is the largest of the States and often features in quizzes for being the geographical state that holds three of the four extremes of north, south, easterly and most westerly state (not most southerly of those four!)
For reference the only state admitted since was the distant little island hawaii.
