What would be the consequences of a comet hitting earth
Question asked by: remz8831

It depends on the size of the comet what would happen to earth.
Certainly any impact would likely be catastropic to people living around the impact.
Large impactors could have repercussions for the whole of humanity.
For instance really large impacts cause tsunamis, vapourise land causing massive earthquakes for a long distance and destruction.
Perhaps even worse again is that they can lead to so much debris going into the atmosphere that sunlight gets blotted out and that has severe implications for all humanity and other life too.
