Who is socrates?
Question asked by: dannyboy
Socrates is an ancient Greek philosopher and is very famous.
This is because he had such a large influence on others at the time with his approach to questioning.
And also because of his student Plato who took the time to write down in detail records of his dialogues and is how we know most of what we know about Socrates, his life and views.
Basically he used to ask lots of questions and in that way find out people's thoughts and views and then subtlely share his own thoughts too, many of which seem quite unique and insightful, and he always said that he knew nothing and played down his own knowledge.
