Why are astrology predictions so ambiguous?

They are ambiguous because that's the best way to get loads of people to believe they are true.
If they make specific predictions then of course they will be wrong for most people - this is simple probability.
Therefore by keeping things ambiguous most statements can be interpreted to be of relevance to you.
