Why do people reject God in their lives?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 02 Apr 2008

There are a range of reasons why people do this.

Sometimes it is due to a bad life experience, for instance if a relative dies young then they may think how could God do that and question their belief.

Or it could be because they see religion as irrelevant to their lives or inconvenient - why live by a moral code when you can be perceived to have more fun without it.

For many religion has been diluted by the western culture in recent decades and seen as unfashionable whereas in the past it was seen as a good thing and expected of you - given the choice most people will choose a looser system of morals that gives them more choice over a stricter practice and set of rules such as is imposed by religion. Many blame the lack of religious relevant in the modern world as being why society is crumbling and countries like America and Britain have so many problems with lack of respect amongst their youngsters due to there being no religion in their lives.
