What is the circumference of the earth?

I believe it's a little different between going n/s and e/w, but never the less, i was wondering how far it was around it. :)

A search on google comes up with this:

40,075.02 KM (equatorial) 40,007.86 KM (meridional) 40,041.47 KM (mean)

So there you have it, that is the answer to what the circumference of the earth is.

Making sense of that figure is quite another thing - that is a lot of kilometres!
