Why do we cleanse our skin during a facial. What are the benefits of cleansing?

Cleansing skin removes dirt, oil and grime and general grease from the skin.
Therefore it becomes fresh and clean and smells nice.
The advantage is that dirt and grime can block pores, and also therefore contribute to spots.
Hence it is a good idea to wash your face regularly.
It also makes it look nice and removes any dirt and dust from the face that might stop it looking nice.
