Being Vegetarian

Hey, I'm 14 - and i've been a vegetarian for a couple of months now, because of what i believe in. But recently a friend told me that being vegetarian stops you from growing. Is this true? I'm not exactly short, but i really want to be taller - and a vegetarian. Does anybody know if this is true? Megan x

No that's a load of rubbish, don't worry about it!

There are plenty of people who are vegetarian who are really tall.

If you are vegetarian you still need to ensure that you have a balanced diet and lots of different food groups are represented in your diet but it certainly does not mean you won't grow, your friend is teasing you!
