Dating someone in the same office: good idea or not?

If you date someone in the same office as you then there are pros and cons.

The pro is that it can be strangely exciting to try to keep hidden from colleagues your relationship - it can seem strangely exciting! However the colleagues may not actually be interested but in most offices the latest relationship is good water cooler talk.

In addition however there is a big con to consider: and that is two fold. The first part is spending a lot of time together if you work near each other. The second is of course what happens when something goes wrong: is the office big enough to cope with the both of you should that eventuality occur?
