How do I clean a tin record album box - it resembles a movie canister - that's tarnished with fingerprints?

You should be able to use soap and water to remove these sort of marks from the tin.
The key is to be sure that you wipe off well at the end so that there is no moisture left there which could corrode the tin over time.
