How do I stop my towels being so fluffy?

I have bought many different sets of towels recently, ranging from supermarket to expensive designer towels from department stores. I've washed them without fabric conditioner several times, but all are still very fluffy & shedding fluff absolutely everywhere.

I know the feeling well... I don't think that there's anything you can do to remove fluff from towels other than wash them loads of time annoyingly.

It is frustrating as the fluff gets everywhere on the bathroom floor and stuck to your body too, but there's nothing that can be done as far as I'm aware!
