I don't understand CSS what is it?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 06 Jan 2010

CSS stands for cascading style sheets and it is a method of setting out how the content of a webpage should be displayed.

For instance if you want different elements next to each other, or at precise locations on the page with a certain background and so on, then you can use CSS to determine this.

The idea is that CSS replaces things that were used before such as tables which previously were used to layout content on a webpage, and is seen as a superior method.

It can take a while to learn and also the biggest issue can be glitches between how different web browsers display content and interpret CSS so a lot of testing may be needed to get it right.
