What is the best way to take a good photo?

The best way to take a good photo is to ensure that you first of all are taking a picture of a great subject.
Even the best photographer can't make some subjects look interesting.
Once you have a good subject you could try and take it from an unusual angle rather than the classic photo - is there light striking it at an interesting angle or something like that? Experiment with a few different shots and see what works well for you.
