Is Pluto a planet or not?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 11 Jan 2010

The debate over poor old Pluto has raged for a long time.

And eventually the other year, I think it was 2008, it was re-classified as not being a planet at all, but is rather something like a planetoid or some other term like that.

Therefore you would now presumably learn a different solar system in school which would be very confusing for those of us who grew up on it being a solar system with nine planets of mercury, venus, earth, mars, jupiter, saturn, uranus, neptune and pluto.
