Yes the smell of fish in general and strong ones can be really annoying.
Apart from the obvious of opening windows and getting a through draft to get rid of those sorts of cooking smells you can either spray with air freshener or similar, or alternatively some recommend putting down a bowl of lemon juice or something like some baking soda in the kitchen and apparently this will absorb the smells overnight in the latter case and create a more pleasant scent in the former case.
