Plasterers lime and potatoes

My husband has sprinkled plasterers lime on our veggie patch I have heard that this is not good for growing potatoes can you let me know if this is correct

This is right.

And that's because lime is basis, so it raises the pH of the soil.

However the majority of potatoes perform best at a pH of the soil at 6 or a little under, in other words they like slightly acidic soil.

Since the lime raises the pH then it can be seen that this is not conducive to growing potatoes so it is recommended not to put lime down where you want to grow the potatoes.
