Plasterers lime and potatoes
Question asked by: lorraine6

This is right.
And that's because lime is basis, so it raises the pH of the soil.
However the majority of potatoes perform best at a pH of the soil at 6 or a little under, in other words they like slightly acidic soil.
Since the lime raises the pH then it can be seen that this is not conducive to growing potatoes so it is recommended not to put lime down where you want to grow the potatoes.
