What causes dogs noses to dry and crack and how can I treat it?

There are a couple of reasons for this. One is being hot and dry, for instance having been in the sun for a long time, or also being dehydrated.
This can also be a symptom of a large range of dog illnesses from the very minor upwards.
Therefore the best course of action would be to take the dog to the vet for a check-up in order to establish just what is causing the dryness and cracking in the dogs nose and to get an expert opinion as to what to do to rectify the matter.
