What colour does litmus paper turn in acid?
Question asked by: mrquestion

In an acid, the litmus paper changes colour and it goes red.
Therefore if you want to test for an acid then this is a simple way - open the bottle dip some litmus paper in being sure of course not to touch the acid yourself as it could be strong, and see what colour it turns.
In generally red is associated with acids in terms of standard chemical indicators.
