What do I use to clean the results of a fire to exterior brick?

Burning and char stains can be among the hardest to remove, and depends on the make up of the brick and the extent of the burning.
There are not really any standard household products that will do the best possible job with this, therefore I would recommend contacting your local hardware store to see what product they would recommend to get this job done.
