What is a quaver?

Question asked by: knowitall

A quaver is equal to an eighth of one whole note.

It is easily spotted from a crotchet as it has a line at the top that shows it is a quarter the length of a crotchet, and when joined together with other quavers there is a line between them to connect them together.
