What is the best way to increase salary?

The best way to increase your salary is actually to change jobs from one company to another.
That's because usually when you work for a company, your salary only goes up relatively slowly as you move from one grade to another and you usually have to work at one grade for a couple of years before moving up the chain.
When you move company however there is no such expectation in place so if you apply for a higher level job elsewhere then you can greatly increase your salary just through one job move.
