Whats a modal group?

This simply refers to a group that contains the most data. And that's what the term modal group means.

Think of it like this:

There are three types of average, the mean, the median and the mode.

Let's look at some numbers:
1,2,3,2,2

The mean is 1 + 2 + 3 + 2 + 2, which is 10, divided by 5, which makes a mean of 2. This is what average normally means. The median is the one in the middle, which is 3. The mode is the one which occurs the most, so the mode here is 2.

The modal group then takes this idea but applies it to groups of numbers, or sets, and the group that occurs the most is known as the modal group.
