Madonna is the popular stage name of a singer and performer from America who has been a big celebrity and musician now for several decades.
Early in her career she courted controversy for material that was considered very racy and raunchy before its time and pushed the boundaries of what was and what was not acceptable in pop music at a time where the world was more conservative and less exposed to shocking material than it is now where some of these things now seem tame.
