Will any existing MPs get de-selected at the election due to the expenses scandal?
Question asked by: artiste

Well, a lot of the MP's that got caught up with the expenses scandal have notified the world that they are going to stand down at the next election, so that they don't have the humiliation of not getting re-elected due to the scandal.
So whatever happens there will be a fresh bunch of faces in parliament after the next general election.
However, whether any that are staying on will be de-selected due to the scandal by the electorate, even if they haven't done anything wrong, is difficult to say - though the chances are that you would expect some to suffer from it, and particularly those who seem to have committed some indiscretions but aren't stepping down!
