How do I remove a build up of 'gee'

How do I easily remove a thick an sticky, build up of gee from a cooker and kitchen units?

A bit of elbow grease wouldn't go amiss here, that usually works to shift most things!

If your standard cleaning products and a lot of eblow grease aren't shifting it then best go down your local hardware or diy store and get expert advice for the best product for the job.
