My friend says God speaks to him but never to me, why?

Many people have a personal relationship with God and believe God speaks to them.
However many people do not find this, even many religious people have never heard God speak to them, or at least not directly, but believe perhaps this happens in other ways eg small signs with regard what happens in their day.
You shouldn't worry about this and it is perfectly normal, in fact many people in todays secular society would say this is what you should expect.
