What is the difference between an atheist and a agnostic?

Question asked by: mrquestion

Asked on: 18 Dec 2009

An agnostic hasn't made up their mind one way or other about God whilst the other person, the atheist, most certainly has.

The agnostic can be defined as someone who sits on the fence and says that there might be a god there might not be, they haven't made their mind up or even that they don't think they could actually make up their mind without definitive proof either way. The atheist has made up their mind that there is no god.
