Suffering
Question asked by: bininha*

People who have a religious faith may treat suffering more stoically or philosophically because they might see it either as some sort of trial or use prayer to try to help them through it and give them the strength to deal with it.

Being a Christian does not make a person immune to suffering. A true Christian knows the source of suffering is Satan the Devil. God does not make people suffer nor does he test people ((Jas 1:13-15) 13 When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone. 14 But each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. 15 Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin; in turn, sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.)
Knowing this and coming to an accurate knowledge of truth a Christian is better able to understand why he is suffering also he knows that no matter what Satan tries to do to us God can and will make all things new(Re 21:4, 5) 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look! I am making all things new.” Also, he says: “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”
