Why do modelling TV shows have models who don't meet standard requirements?
Question asked by: mrquestion

This is in order to make the TV show more interesting and more edgy, and to show that they are apparently championing ordinary women or real women.
However usually they are dropped fairly early in the show and there is never any real intention to let them win the series, so in some ways it could be considered a publicity stunt and also to add interest to the shows which otherwise would be even more formulaic and samey from one series to the next.
